Hunter Chronicles D395

395HDCA man walks into a local grocery store. He walks all the way to the center of the store and stood with his arms wide open. People passed by and pretended not to see him. Some laughed, some pointed. The store decided to call the police.

A little boy and his mommy were walking by and the little boy stopped and looked up at his mom and said, “Mommy, I think that man needs a hug.” She said, son I don’t think that is what he needs. The little boy was 4 years old and insistent that the man needed a hug. She said, let’s go. He said, no! The mom finally gave in and said, “if you really think he needs a hug, then quickly give him one, I will wait right here.” The little boy went over to the man and said, “I think you need a hug,” and he gave him one. The man looked down and began to cry and he cried and he cried.

When the store clerks and police arrived, they asked him, why he just stood there. The man proceeded to say… all I wanted was fOR someone to embrace me for who I am. I don’t have close family or friends. My life hasn’t been the greatest and my past keeps me from moving forward. Those who know me, when they see me, instantly pass judgment and it leaves me without anyone to talk too. The only person who accepted me for me was this little boy. At 4 years old he was able to see past what had done or been through and accept me as a person in need of something as simple as an embrace. We live our lives, grow older and some would even say we grow wiser. As we grow, handling things in a mature, adult, fashion is expected, but many of us fall short.

I understand this even more now:
Matthew 18:3 – And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Not everyone is going to embrace you for who you are. This doesn’t mean that you aren’t valuable, it may just mean that, we have yet to learn how to see, from the eyes of a child, void of judgmental swaying.
